Replacement for Toyota Yaris automatic
I bought a Toyota Yaris Automatic (1999 model) 10 years ago. Since then the car has covered 120,000 miles, with no problems. I would like to change the car soon. Is the more recent Yaris as good for reliability or could you recommend another 1.0 automatic?

Nothing like as good as the original either in terms of design or longevity. The original Yaris was a European Car of the Year. Yours has a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Yaris switched to an automated manual in 2005/2006 for the Mk II. Then to a CVT for the Mk III in 2011. I can't think of any 1.0 torque converter autos currently. The Toyota IQ 1.0 auto was CVT. The Suzuki Splash and Vauxhall Agila 1.2s were 4-speed torque converter. So are the KIA Picanto and Hyundai i10 1.25s.

Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.
Stylish, good quality interior. Roomier and more mature than its predecessor. Refined for a small car and decent to drive.
