Need a used 4x4 for towing - What do you recommend?
I have £12,000 to spend on a used 4x4 for towing a 1.5 tonne boat. I have short listed the Honda CR-V and Land Rover Freelander 2. What would be your recommendation be?

I'd be looking at something a bit tougher, like a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.3 diesel: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/mitsubishi/mitsubi.../ Though titled a 2.2 diesel, you want the one with the Mitsubishi 2268cc chain cam diesel engine, not the 2178 belt cam PSA engine. Also invest in a Karcher pressure washer to clean the salt off the underside after launching boats.
