Should I buy GardX Protection and GAP Insurance when I buy my Honda CR-V?

I am in the process of buying a 2007 Honda CR-V 2.2I -CDTI ES and am being offered GardX Protection for £299 for 8 years and Honda Gap Insurance for £299 for three years. On the face of it, both appear to be sensible products. Could I please have your opinion?

They are salesman's commission earners that will net him or the garage about £400. DIY the paint protection using Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection for £20. Get the GAP insurance via an insurance broker for about £100.
