Buying a nearly new Fiesta - 1.25 or 1.0 EcoBoost?
I want to buy a nearly new car. The Ford Fiesta seems an interesting proposition, but there is a considerable price difference between the 1.25 engines and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost. Which one would you go for and why?

The 1.25 is an old, basic, non turbo 4-cylinder engine, so is less efficient and less powerful then the three-cylinder 1.0 EcoBoost and less fun to drive. The EcoBoost had some turbo problems but they all seem to be resolved now. Small Fords also had a lot of clutch problems due to a bad batch of clutch slave cylinders being fitted in 2011/2012. The 1.0 EcoBoost can be driven more economically than the 1.25, but it's so lively that many drivers don't and that's why they complain of poor economy.
