Automatic gearbox issues with Audi A6 allroad

My Audi A6 Allroad (2000 model) has a couple of issues. The first problem is with the gear selector indication light. Occasionally it lights up orange and looks as if all the gears are selected.

The second issue is with the drive. Sometimes the car loses all power, but if I put it into neutral and it switch off, then on, the drive comes back again. Any ideas?

That's a 5-speed traditional torque converter auto, not a multitronic or an s-tronic and it's old. I think it's probably no more than electrical contacts in the selector quadrant, but the box could probably do with a change of fluid anyway so I'd get it to a member of www,fedauto.co.uk
