How can I fix minor alloy wheel damage?

Is it necessary to fix minor scratch/scuff to alloy wheel happened by rubbing against the kerb? Will it cause log term damage to the wheels or can I leave it?

Get a file, some emery cloth or wet & dry, a touch up brush of silver paint and a touch up brush of lacquer and DIY. If you don't, road salt and water will get underneath the lacquer and start to oxidise the alloy. AlloyGator rim protectors look good, though, of course, if you hit a kerb with them badly enough they can still scrape off.
