Faulty BMW windscreen washer - is this a design fault?
The windscreen washers on my BMW 5 Series F10 are only producing a dribble of water. The garage tells me that it is likely sediment in the washer tank or filters. To flush it out requires major work and the removal of the inner wheel arch. Surely filters and cleaning thereof should be easily accessible. Sounds like a design fault. Any views?

Firstly BMW demands that you use only BMW washer fluid in the system because that is supposed to prevent sediment from forming. But when what you describe happened to me in the past I got a friend to help and shoved a hosepipe right into the bottom of the reservoir then asked the friend to turn on the tap. This usually agitates the gunge blocking the filter at the bottom of the reservoir and blasts it all out of of the filler. I can't guarantee it will work in your case, but it always worked for me.
