Should I switch off my Hyundai Santa Fe's ESP when towing a caravan?
After listening to your advice in January, I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe although I did not take delivery until June (Hyundai are a victim of their own success). When I collected the car the salesman told me to switch off the ESP when towing. I can find no reference to this in the handbook, and the caravan forums are a bit vague (a bit like the caravan towers, probably) so I thought I would ask a man who knows. The problem is that about 50 per cent of the time I forget. What is your advice? I am extremely pleased with the Santa Fe, the new engine, as you said, is excellent.

I've had bad experience of ESP at high speed on a road across a desert in Morocco and also on a skid pan. Because of this, though I don't know about towing, I suspect the ESP will fight your corrections if the caravan gets out of shape. But do get a second opinion from the Caravan Club.
