Is there any way I can defend against a red traffic light offence?

I have just been summonsed to appear in court after going through a red light. The red light I went through is at a big junction with multiple lights and is very confusing. It shows on the camera image me going through the red light, but the lights turning green to go right. I pleaded guilty originally and yet they said they wanted to take the matter further. Is there anything I can do?

Since you have been summonsed, all you can do is prepare your defence, which is as you stated it. The light display is confusing.
