Lack of acceleration

My wife has just bought a 2014 Leon ST FR 180PS with the DSG gearbox. She is very pleased with it apart from lack of initial acceleration from standstill. The dealer says this is due to turbo lag. If this seems correct can anything be done to rectify the problem? If this is not the problem do you have any other ideas?

There's not much turbo lag with this engine. More a characteristic of the DSG box and one of the reasons I don't like them. I think this is the 6-speed wet clutch DSG rather than the 7-speed dry clutch DSG fitted to engines with lower torque.
