Warning light on Ford Focus

My Ford Focus runs fine but when turned off the red light on the dash flashes. You need a degree to understand the manual but I have checked all I can and there seems no visible reason for it and no messages in the read out. Any ideas please?

It sounds as though you are describing the PATS (passive anti theft system). The light flashes to indicate that the system is operative.
