Are VAG diesels built using "Manifold in Head" tech?

Is it true that some VAG diesels have been built using the "Manifold in Head" tech that other makes (Renault) have used to good effect in reducing DPF problems?

Yes. Identified by being called BMT (Blue Motion Technology), Engine code EA889, fitted to MQB VAG cars from 2013. Both 1.6TDI and 2.0TDI now manifold in head.
