Problem with Nissan Juke trip computer

The range on our 2013 Nissan Juke 1.6 DiG-T is hopelessly inaccurate. Even with a full tank of fuel, the display will say 90 mile range. Two franchised dealers have told us that there is no fault code and they believe it cannot be fixed.

I know it's a minor fault but it is still a fault. How can we stop the dealers hiding behind the lack of fault codes?

It's a software programming error. Tell the dealer you bought it from that if he cannot correct it you will take it elsewhere and if they can correct it you will send him the bill. Obviously if they can't correct it you can't bill the dealer.
