Buying a small car - what would you recommend?

Please can you recommend a small used automatic (petrol) car. The size should be similar to our existing Peugeot 106. I have £7000 to spend and need the car for city driving. It must be reliable, cheap to run and safe. Can you help?

Hyundai i10 1.2 four-speed auto, or maybe a Kia Picanto 1.2 four-speed auto. Taller, a Suzuki Splash 1.2 4-speed auto or a Vauxhall Agila 1.2 4-speed auto.
