helping dealership hit targets
I have paid the deposit on a new Skoda Fabia 2015 but have been asked by the dealer to take out insurance by the end of this month, so they can put the sale thru their books and meet sales targets. I do not have a delivery date on the car so they asked me to use their 7 day free Skoda Insurance and get it insured from Monday next week. On calling Skoda insurance they questioned why I would do this when i havent got a date of delivery for the car. I explained to the dealer the insurance companies reluctance to insure me and he said just call back the insurance company and speak to a less officious person. I am am interested to know if this is a usual thing?

They have a March sales target and what they want to do is register the car on 31st March so it is included in March sales and they get a volume sakes bonus from Skoda. They can't do this without the car being insured. Obviously there is a benefit to them in this, but are they offering any benefit to you? If not, why should you do it?
