Disadvantages buying from brokers?

Discounts offered from brokers seem very attractive, but are there any disadvantages in buying from a reputable broker as opposed to buying from a local main dealer?

As discussed elsewhere, the dealer you actually buy the car from may be some distance from where you live and because your contract will be with that dealer it is always better to use that same dealer for servicing and for warranty work.
