I want an MPV with space for a wheelchair - is the Chrysler Voyager suitable?

I want to buy a car or MPV which has a boot large enough to take a wheelchair and still leave some additional space for shopping. I would prefer a diesel manual model. Ease of access is also important. My budget about £5000. So far my search has come up with a Chrysler Voyager 2.5 CRD. What do you suggest?

The previous Chrysler Grand Voyager is a bit of a bulky people carrier and had an atrocious record for safety from Euro NCAP, as well as a distinctly patchy record for build quality - as a result it's not a car we'd recommend. However, it does represent good value for money as a large people carrier.

We'd suggest the Volkswagen Sharan (or SEAT Alhambra/Ford Galaxy - all three are the same car) as this is well built and cheap to run. However, it may not be quite big enough for your needs, in which case it's worth considering a Toyota Previa - superbly reliable and very spacious inside. For your budget you can get a good 2.0 D-4D diesel with a manual gearbox.
