Which Qashqai model would best suit a 20-mile round commute and a number of short trips?
I share a company car which is allocated to a female colleague. It's time to change the car. She's currently considering a Nissan Qashqai (high driving position, decent payload, and medium size) but is unsure what model will suit her best. The car will do a round commute of 20 miles per day, then spend the rest of the day doing six or seven short hops of a total of about 15 miles. It will do the occasional long trip to see friends or go on holidays. Lease costs and tax banding will also need to be taken into account, with a view to keeping costs down. Which model do you think will suit these circumstances best, and what alternatives might she consider?

If she's only doing a short distance each day then we'd suggest sticking with a petrol, as diesels don't like short, quick journeys. The 1.6-litre petrol is a good little engine in the Qashqai and not underpowered, so would probably be an ideal choice. Other cars to consider include the Ford Focus 1.6-litre petrol.
