My air conditioning pump is making a noise - is it running out of gas?

I have just noticed that when I turn on my air conditioning the pump is making a noise. It only started this afternoon before the guy sorted out my hands-free kit for the car. A friend of mine says that I might be running out of gas, or something may be wrong with the pump?

It could be the pump but they rarely need replacing. Take it to an air conditioning specialist who will be able to tell you what's wrong. If it's regassing, that's straightforward and not too expensive.
