What do you think of the Nissan 350Z's automatic gearbox?
We are thinking of buying a Nissan 350Z and wonder what you think of them. Are Nissan's automatics reliable? Do you know of any issues with these cars? Also we have seen tiptronics - are these as reliable as the normal automatics with Nissan or other manufacturers? We want something sporty from 2002-2004. Have you any recommendations? It must be automatic as my husband has bad knees?

The Nissan 350Z automatic is a very strong gearbox as it has to deal with all that power from the 3.5-litre engine. We've not heard of any problems with them. Nissan parts/cars tend to be very reliable and well-engineered. Tiptronics are as reliable as automatics, they just give you the choice of changing gear yourself, but the main gearbox systems are pretty identical.
