Will the X-Trail get the Renault 1.6 DCI engine?
A while back you mentioned that Renault had just introduced a twin turbo version of the 1.6 dci engine - producing 160PS. You thought that it might find its way into the Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail.
I'm thinking about getting a new X Trail soon but having test driven the 1.6 dci 130PS I was pretty underwhelmed. The only other engine spoken of by Nissan for the X-Trail in the future is the 1.6 DIG T petrol - but I don't want a petrol. Do you think it's worth holding on for a future dci 160 launch?

Yes. I think Renault is overwhelmed by demand for the 1.6DCI which requires a special sand-cast cylinder head incorporating the exhaust manifold. Could be that the high mounted turbos are causing paint blistering on the bonnet, and also preclude extensive soundproofing.
