My wife and I live in Portugal but are in UK from time to time, when we usually rent a car. Now we're thinking of buying small runaround which we can leave in UK when not here, and this would mean it standing garaged for up to three months at a time. I would normally disconnect the battery. Can you suggest the most suitable vehicle to buy? Our budget is £3000 - £5000. I assume petrol is preferable to diesel and it must be automatic, otherwise the type and make are not important. Also do you have any advice on how best to leave the vehicle when stored, in order to ensure it starts when we return and need it?
