My partner, who is 29, has been suffering from MS for about four years. Recently her back has got worse and has trouble with the passenger seats. She is about five feet and three inches tall, and we are actively looking for a seat with two characteristics. Firstly, a short "squab" is the technical term, I am reliably informed. The best we have tried has been the Renault Megane (c. 17 inches). We have tried the Hyundai i10, Kia Soul, Honda Insight, Ford Focus, Golf and Volvo, and are in the process of trying more but it takes a long time, as she cannot get to the showrooms needing a test drive to our home each time.

Secondly, we need something that allows her feet to be placed on the floor and not angled back at an incline. Many of the more recent models are ergonomically designed so you are tilted back or have side panels to the seats pushing you in, which causes her no end of pain. A fairly simple seat is all that's required. The Golf was a very hard ride, and the Hyundai was surprisingly uncomfortable. We are intending to look at Mazda, the Fiat Panda, the Citroen C3 and others, but any advice would be welcome. Any ideas?
