Why do automatics use more fuel?
Why do all the new Korean cars (Kia, Hyundai) have such appalling CO2 and fuel consumption figures when an automatic 'box is fitted?
I wrongly thought that when they progressed to dual-clutch boxes CO2 and fuel consumption would be like a VAG car and as good or even better than manual gearboxes, what's wrong?

Very few of them have dual clutch boxes, mainly because these boxes are unreliable compared to the trusty old four-speed and six-speed torque converter autos.
