Idling clatter on Citroen C4
My Citroen C4 (2004) makes a mechanical clatter noise when idling. Slight throttle opening gets rid of it, but the noise starts as soon as you return to idle. I have also tried switching off the ventilation fan, but no difference. Any ideas?

Firstly, have you checked all metal covers, cam belt, manifold etc, also all pipes/hoses connections?
Since you say slight increase of revs gets rid of it, would suggest vibration may be the cause. Are you sure its coming from the engine bay (not exhaust system?)
