Ford Focus auto stuck in park

I have a 2006 Ford Focus automatic; however, it won't disengage from park. The engine starts fine, and everything else works, but the car won't move. Any ideas?

Obviously something wrong with thew linkage between the footbrake and the quadrant. But there might be away round this. Some small button or hole on or near the quadrant to release it without pressing the footbrake. Check the driver's handbook.
