Intermittent power loss on Toyota Yaris

My Toyota Yaris automatic sometimes loses power when pulling away from a junction. It only happens in the first mile or so of starting and only started happening a few months ago. Any idea what might be wrong?

Which Yaris auto. 2005 or earlier should be problem free as they had a reliable 4-speed torque converter auto. 2006 - 2011, disastrous because they were fitted with an automated manual that is prone to clutch and actuator failure. From 2011, fine, as they are all fitted with a reliable CVT.
