Mazda diesel or petrol

I have done 90,000 trouble free miles over four years in a Mazda 6 163 hp diesel. I love the way it drives, especially the way the engine responds. I am now retiring and am looking to buy a new Mazda 3 fastback 150 diesel.

I like the looks and trust the brand. My mileage will drop to around 10,000 pa and I wondered if I will have DPF problems with the diesel?

Would the 120 petrol be a wiser choice? Though the economy numbers do not look great and I am not sure if I could live with the lack of low down torque?

Alternatively do I look at the Ford Focus with a turbo petrol engine for the best of both worlds?

I don't think so because the Skyactive technology uses very effective heat management to keep the DPF clear. The 150D is also very nice to drive and works well with the new 6-speed auto if you want auto.
