Buying a used Civic - what should I look out for?
Having read a number of reviews on your site, I think a Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC (8th gen) is probably the best car for my needs. Ideally I’d like to spend £4000 or under and my wife likes the idea of the i-Shift.
My questions are:
1. Should I be scared of anything with mileage over 80,000 – or should I be looking for less? We don’t cover huge miles, 6000 a year.
2. Is the i-Shift any good or best avoided?
3. Anything else to watch out for?

1) £4000 is the very low end for this car. Spend a bit more. Get a lot better car.
2) Best avoided. Could cost you £2,500 in repairs.
