Can you recommend a good front-wheel drive car?

I want to swap my Mk1 SEAT Leon 130 diesel for something more comfortable with a bit of go and I am considering a Saab 9-3 2.0 petrol. The question is should I buy a car whose manufacturer has gone out of business, or is there a better alternative FWD car?

Lots of better FWD cars. The 9-3 was good when it came out in 2003, but everything else has overtaken it. Currently the best FWD saloons and hatches are the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3.
