Can I buy a Honda Zoomer X scooter in the UK?

You did a review of the Honda Zoomer X 110cc a while back, but it is not available in the UK and Honda seem to say it won't be sold here. Is there a way of getting one imported from other markets?

You could probably import one from Thailand if you're prepared to go through a few hoops. You'd have to buy it from a Thai motorbike dealer, then export it in a crate and claim back the Thai 7% VAT, so it would probably work out at about £1000 + shipping + 10% EC Import Duty + 20% UK VAT, but you should still get away with about £2000 all-in.

Honda is very awkward about selling great products from other markets in the UK. Our Zoomer has done 12,000 kilometres between November 2013 and May 2014 mostly taking kids to school across Bangkok. It's been no trouble at all.

What you can get in the UK is the Honda MSX 125cc Mini Bike: www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Honda+MSX+125/ One of our guys (John Slavin) has one in the UK, and we have a custom built Kawasaki KSR equivalent in Thailand.
