Buying a new BMW X3 - petrol or diesel?
I'm considering buying a used BMW X3 and running it with winter tyres during winter. I've seen some petrol versions available at reasonable prices compared to diesel. I will do mostly 15,000 miles this year. Do you believe choosing the petrol over diesel would leave me with any disadvantages for this car and model

I can't hand on heart recommend BMW 2.0 litre petrol engines. I think you'll be better off with the 2.0 litre diesel. It is the most economical 2.0 litre diesel I have ever driven, returning up to 82mpg in my hands in a 320dED and averaging 63mpg over 8,000 miles. (Obviously this will be less in the xDrive.)
