Flooding problem with SEAT Leon

I am finding a pool of water in the rear near side of my SEAT Leon. the problem usually happens after heavy rainfall and fills the floorwell with one-inch of water.

However, I recently sat in the car for 10 to 15 minutes during a torrential downpour and could see no evidence of water coming in through windows, doors or over the door sills, but eventually a pool accumulated. The car sits on the drive which has a slight slope towards the back of the car. Any suggestions what may be the cause?

A common entrance point is the pollen filter because after it is replaced it is very difficult to put the waterproof cap back on securely without damaging it. But that would mean a wet front passenger carpet as well as wet rear footwell. If the front passenger footwell is dry, then the water is coming in through the rear door because the waterproof membrane between the door structure and the door trim has perforated. Very common on ageing VAG cars. I used to replace them with builder's blue DPC sheeting, cut to size.
