Bought a used car with faults - who should pay for the repairs?

We bought a used Ford Galaxy from a car supermarket recently, but noticed the car has no parcel shelf. After complaining, the car supermarket said they knew it was missing but it was our fault as we hadn't picked it up on looking round it. We have also noticed the car has been sold with a bald tyre, which they are stating is legal as it has some grip.

There is also a side light out which we are going to replace but having got hold of the pre-sale inspection detail it states side light inop, replaced bulb still inop, checked fuses, checked fuses and wiring, requires dealers...

We were not informed of any of the above when we picked up the car and the car supermarket is not very helpful. Can you offer any advice?

The dealer is responsible for replacing or fixing all of this whatever he says. Law here. Remiond them of it: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/

I signed and drove an Audi away from a dealer on Friday. The garage now want me to go back as they have found a fault with the trade-in car. What are my rights? My car was bought as seen.
