When should I polish my new car?

I will be taking delivery of my new Kia Cee'd soon, which is finished in metallic black. Can you tell me which polishes I should use and how often?

Also will seek your website recommendation for GAP insurance as car was £13,000 and dealership gap = £349 for 3 years and cover to £25 therefore more than I need. I don't think the salesman is happy as I've turned down his insurance and finance!

Use Autogym High Definition Wax as that coats the car with wax rather than cuts into the surface of the paint to give a shine. Expensive at £45 a tub, but cheaper than a paint treatment. Of course the salesman is not happy because he has missed out on three opportunities for commission that might have netted him £750 - £1000 altogether. GAP insurance bought from a dealer is usually 2/3 commission.
