qashqai plus 2 replacement
We are considering whether to replace a 5 year old 2 litre petrol qashqai which has covered 34000 miles mainly on sub 4 mile trips around town. It is also used for 30 mile trips some weekends and family holidays ( twice a year).
We really like the idea of a panoramic glass roof and a decent sized boot .Seven seats was an advantage but no longer necessary
The latest qashqai has the roof in Tekna spec and a 1.6 dci is around £23000 discounted .
The cx5 only has a small sunroof . The Evoque is available with the roof at £28000 discounted via drive the deal.
The secondhand options look overpriced when compared to new via a broker
My question is do you think the evoque or qashqai diesel will be ok for mainly short trips around town.
Thank you
Ps the q2 has been a really good car. Reliable and comfortable in acenta spec.
There is a huge advantage that by only using 6 seats you still have a reasonable sized boot.. may be worth adding that to car by car. As a seven seater bootspace minimal !
The evoque is only available as a diesel, in our price bracket..£ 15000 /30000

The 1.6DCI 130 has a sophisticated heat management system, low compression and exhaust manifold in head so the DPF can be close coupled and heat up faster. It's been in the Scenic, Megane and Qashqai for at least 3 years now with no reports of any DPF problems. The CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv engine uses similar technology. The Evoque doesn't. of the three, the Evoque is most likely to suffer DPF problems if used fort repeated short runs from cold.
