Buying an Audi A5 - Petrol or Diesel
A friend is thinking of buying an Audi A5 (2010 onwards). He does around 6000 miles per year in a mix of urban and longer runs. He is leaning towards the 3.0TDI for the fuel economy even though he is aware of potential DPF issues.
He has driven the V8 petrol and loved it but doesn't think he could live with the fuel cost or tax. I think the 2.0 petrol would be a good option, but what would you recommend?

The problem is that the 2.0TFSI has had some issues: piston rings and carbing up of combustion chambers: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/audi/a5-2007/?sectio...d The new EA888 2.0TFSI addresses these issues, but is not in the A5 yet.
