Buying an SUV with auto 'box - what's best?

I am looking for a mid-sized SUV with a petrol engine and auto ‘box. My wife already has a 2011 Suzuki SX4, but this is a tad too small for all our camping gear and the seats are painful on long trips. What would you recommend? New, nearly-new or a-bit-older will all be considered.
