Buying a used diesel estate - what's best?

I am in the market for a used estate car, with a manual gearbox and diesel engine. Ideally, I’d like the car to be seven or eight years old and the engine to be no bigger than a 1.8. The car will be used daily for work driving and I will do between 50-70 miles a day. Do you recommend the Vauxhall Astra or Ford Mondeo from 2005 – 2007?

I don't rate either of these. Maybe a KIA cee'd 1.6CRDI SW or Hyundai i30 1.6CRDI SW if you can find one.
