Parking Eye parking charge notice - how can I appeal?

I have just received a parking ticket from Parking Eye for parking at a large service station. I had just arrived back from France and had driven non-stop from Portsmouth that evening and had to stop to sleep.

As there are signs saying "Tiredness Kills" do I ignore the ticket completely or get in touch and point out the anomaly? Or give in to their implied threats and pay. In closing I should point out that I had been driving for four hours after a lengthy channel crossing.

I have argued this same point for years. I would use FoI to obtain the terms of the service area operator lease to find out what services they are compelled to provide. They try to offer 2 hours free parking, with additional parking available at a fee, but how to pay and where to pay is often obscured. If that leads to a parking charge for breach of contract then it could be challenged as entrapment.
