Can you recommend a car that will fit into my 8-foot wide garage?
I recently moved into a new house and whilst I can drive my Jaguar into the garage I cannot get out of the car, the garage being only 8-feet wide. As I want to garage my car I have been trying to find a narrower car to replace my Jaguar without success so far. Any suggestions? I want a reasonably upmarket four door car if possible.

Cars generally are getting wider, so there is no easy answer to this. There aren't any upmarket 'narrow' cars. Possibly the Skoda Rapid or Rapid Spaceback or SEAT Toledo because, with their mirrors folded they are 5-feet 7-inches wide, which is up to 4-inches narrower than most 'compact hatchbacks'. The Toledo is currently on offer at a £2500 discount.
Every road test here has the widths; some both including and not including the door mirrors: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/. The Federation of Garage Door Makers is trying to persuade developers to widen garage door apertures from seven feet to seven feet six inches.
