What do you think of the Suzuki Alto?
I'm looking for a small economical car. I wondered what your thoughts were on the Suzuki Alto as I can get a brand new one for £5000 (trading in my 11-year-old Peugeot 206) at my local garage and wondered if this was a good buy. I don't drive long distances. It’s just to get out and about and it has to be economical.

That's a brilliant deal, even if it’s £5000 plus your 206, which is worth buttons. The Alto is a basic car built by Maruti in India, but it's okay. Test and video here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/suzuki/suzuki-alto.../ . New Alto due next year.

Cute little small hatch clone offering low emissions, low tax, good fuel economy and a proper 4-speed automatic option. Decent to drive.
