What do you think of the Fiat 500 and should I go for a petrol or diesel model?
I am looking to change my car from a Citroen C2 to a Fiat 500. I'm interested in economy and will probably keep this car for at least 10 years. I have always liked diesels but am worried about the problems with particulate filters. What is the best, the diesel or the TwinAir? My annual mileage is about 15,000, which is a combination of dual carriageway driving, rural roads and journeys that vary between 1 and 25 miles on average.

The 1.3 Multijet is the most economical engine and should average about 65mpg, but has had DPF problems. The TwinAir can do 50mpg plus if driven in Eco mode on Shell V-Power fuel with a very light right foot. A plain (and much cheaper) 1.2 is less fun, but you'll probably get better mpg day to day. I'm averaging 51mpg in one of those.
