Is there a car with easy access that we can replace our 2004 Volkswagen Golf with?

My wife and I are now in our mid 70s and finding it difficult to get in and out of our 2004 Volkswagen Golf. We require something that you can "slide in and out of". Any suggestions what our next and possibly last purchase should be?

Volkswagen launched a new 'Golf Plus' at Frankfurt on 10 September and that should be available in the first quarter of 2014. I hope they will offer a version with flat seats. Those on show were temporarily called ‘Sportvans’ and had heavily bolstered seats, at odds with your requirements. Otherwise, a Mazda 5, a Ford C-Max, a Ford Tourneo Connect, a Toyota Verso or a KIA Carens.
