I want to buy a 7-seater MPV - do you recommend the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso?
Please could you help me? I am looking for a used 7-seater MPV for around £6000 - £7000. I will be trading in my 2007 Golf and would like to know if it's worth me buying a newer MPV or can I get just as good a deal with a 2007 model? I've been looking at Citroen C4 Grand Picassos and Renault Grand Scenics. Both have the option to fold the rearmost two seats away easily, which is essential, as sometimes the pram will need to fit in the boot. However, I have been warned off buying a Renault as they can be unreliable.

The Grand Picasso has a problem with its rear air suspension that can't always be quickly fixed. Later Scenics are not as bad as their earlier reputation suggests. The most reliable smaller MPV is a Toyota Verso, preferably with a petrol engine. But you can buy a high mileage Ford Galaxy 2.0TDCI automatic from Addison Lee (from its fleet of 3000 - 4000). They are really nice vehicles. Addison Lee is on the corner of Hampstead Road and Granby Terrace, just South of Greater London House, London, tel 0207 3889799. I’ve had very positive reports from readers who have bought high mileage Galaxys in this way. Addison Lee changes the oil every 5000 miles.
