What's the best vehicle for a family of four adults and two children?

Can you please advise which is the best 7-seater car or SUV for a family of four adults and two kids?

Generally the nicest for driver and passengers is the Ford Galaxy 2.0TDCI. But a new S-Max arrives next year and there may be a new Galaxy too. Next down the line, the slightly bigger SEAT Alhambra or Volkswagen Sharan, but don't go for the DSG because the installation is particularly frustrating in these.

My son is looking to exchange his BMW estate car for a 7-seater as they are expecting a third child and will need three car seats and room for extra passengers. I was wondering what you would recommend?

Strong yet frugal diesel engines. Clever use of space inside with integrated child seats. Standard DAB. Practical sliding rear side door.
Proper seven-seat practicality which is more than you can say for most SUVs, practical and spacious even with all seven seats occupied, sliding rear doors are a real boon especially the electric versions.
Well-equipped with impressive refinement, comfortable and satisfying to drive, spacious and versatile, no other MPV is as good to drive.
