Can I recommend vinegar for removing smells from cars?

I note the email on Saturday 20 July regarding the smell of stale smoke in cars. An old and tested way to rid a vehicle of smells is to place a saucer or some suitable container of malt vinegar in the vehicle overnight. I once tipped a pint of milk in a boot of a car, and although I thought I had mopped it all up within a week the smell was awful, but the vinegar did the trick overnight.

Thank you for reminding me. I should have remembered that. Bicarbonate of Soda kills the bacteria formed by stale milk.
