Can you recommend a 4x4 for carrying items to mainland Europe?
We require a 4x4 (either permanent or selectable) to carry household and other items to and from mainland Europe. New or secondhand. Our mileage is around 15,000 per annum, mainly longer journeys, and our budget is up to £30,000. What would you propose please?

The "best" is a used BMW F25 X3 2.0D 184. But £30k buys you a brand new KIA Sorento 7-seater with a 7-year warranty. That will do over 40mpg cruising at 70mph, and about 36mpg cruising at 130kmh.
