Should I sell my Saab 9-3 now or hold on to it?
As a lifelong Saab fan, I felt I had to own one when the news of their bankruptcy broke. I picked up a low mileage 2002 9-3 2.0HOT Aero from a Saab dealership, which I love; it is so easy on the eye and its straight-line speed is exhilarating (I have never driven a car in which I feel safer overtaking). Its handling through bends, however, leaves an awful lot to be desired (attributable to the Vectra chassis, no doubt). My annual mileage is low, less than 7000, but I now need to make a decision about its future. As the last Saab to use the H-block engine, coupled with its relative rarity and low mileage for its year (73,000), I am tempted to hold onto it as I feel it will appreciate in value. Am I mad?

Don't bank on it appreciating. If you wanted an appreciating Saab it should have been a classic 185PS 1992/93 900 Ruby. But now it’s not worth trying to sell your 9-3. It trade books at just £645. So just continue to enjoy it until something big breaks. But a very good precaution is to buy a steering rack bulkhead clamp from Abbott Racing at £199.00. This strengthens a well-known and dangerous weak spot and gives better steering: www.abbottracing.net/best-sales.php
