How can I force a dealer to repair a gearbox fault on a Hyundai Tucson under warranty?
I could do with a little help regarding my brother’s 2007 Hyundai Tucson. He bought the car less than year ago from a franchised dealer in Norfolk and there is a problem with the automatic gearbox, which, according to the forums, seems a common fault. The dealer is not in the least bit helpful and is just fobbing him off. I have been a Dealer Principal in the past and am aware how dealers operate but my brother just seems to be getting nowhere. My experience of these issues is those who shout the loudest get the most. His one year warranty runs out this month and he feels the garage is delaying any fix until the warranty runs out.

Get the car to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk for an assessment and, if there is something wrong, pay for a written report. Then confront the dealer with this and tell him if he doesn't fix it under warranty you will have it fixed by the Fedauto specialist and will use www.moneyclaim.gov.uk to sue him for the cost.
